Changing truck parameters

Truck parameters

One of the most common demands in the commercial heavy truck industry is to change some truck parameters like reprogramming of the engine ECM.
Examples of settings you might want to change:

  • Maximum road speed
  • Maximum speed of the cruise control
  • Adjust the idle shutdown timer
  • PTO parameters

There are literally hundreds of settings that can be available on modern electronic motors that are found in commercial trucks.

We can also change the truck parameters of the transmission control unit (TCU), also known as a transmission control module (TCM), or a gearbox control unit (GCU), is a type of automotive ECU that is used to control electronic automatic transmissions. Similar systems are used in various semi-automatic transmissions, purely for clutch automation. A TCU in a modern automatic transmission generally uses sensors from the vehicle, as well as data provided by the engine control unit (ECU), to calculate how and when to change gears in the vehicle for optimum performance, fuel economy and shift quality.

  • Automatic gear shift time reduction.
  • Redline adjustment.
  • Smooth downshifting on deceleration.
  • Rev limits adjustment.
  • Launch control revs adjustment.
  • Manual mode delay adjustment.
  • Improvement in overall shifting smoothness.
  • Increase in torque limitations.
  • Optimization of automatic transmission modes that best suits your individual driving style.
